8 Characteristics of People Who Don’t Fit Well on a Team

I’ve led or worked with many teams and whether there are a few people or many on who make up the team, there can often be one who chooses to be “odd person out”. And, in fairness, it may or may not be a conscious decision they’ve made – they simply don’t fit well with the rest of the team, but they got there by some of their own decisions. Read More

Essentials in the Ministry of the Lord

I like to make it a habit to read through the Pastoral Epistles [1,2 Timothy & Titus] regularly and in one sitting so that the Spirit of God exhorts my soul with truths from Holy Scripture regarding the ministry of the Lord. I want to remain on track. I want to major on the essentials. I must prioritize what God tells me to focus on and avoid what He tells me to flee from. Today I want to highlight seven essentials in the ministry of the Lord. Read More

Where’s Your Heart?

God wants your heart. He isn’t looking just for “donors” for His kingdom, those who stand outside the cause and dispassionately consider acts of philanthropy. He’s looking for disciples immersed in the causes they give to. He wants people so filled with a vision for eternity that they wouldn’t dream of not investing their money, time, and prayers where they will matter most. Read More

ACNA's Largest Parish Calls New Rector

The Vestry of Christ Church, an Anglican parish of several thousand members in the heart of Plano, Texas and member of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA), has unanimously approved the appointment of The Rev. Canon Paul Donison as Rector-elect. Read More
From the website of St. Peter & St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ottawa: "Canon Paul was called to St Peter & St Paul's in 2009, having previously served as Rector of parishes in Northern British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Eastern Ontario. Paul also works at the diocesan level as Canon for Diocesan Events, organizing our yearly diocesan synods and other events throughout Canada and New England. Paul received his master’s degree (M.Div.) at Regent College, Vancouver, BC, and is currently working towards his doctorate at Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Prior to ordination Paul made his living as a stage actor and theatre instructor, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria, BC. He is passionate about seeing ordinary Christians equipped for ministry through intentional discipleship (Ephesians 4:11-16), and enjoys nothing more in his vocational life than teaching and preaching Holy Scripture. He serves in a number of capacities for the Diocese (ANiC) and the Province (ACNA), including Diocesan Council, the American Anglican Council, and Canon for Diocesan Events. Paul is married to Monika, and they are blessed with four bright and beautiful daughters."

At St. Peter & St. Paul's Canon Donison served with Associate Rector Michelle Terwilleger and Curate Jared Driscoll. The Rev. Terwilliger hails from Lexington, Kentucky, and received her seminary training at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. The Rev. Driscoll received his training at Trinity School for Ministry, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Both are converts to what they describe as "Anglicanism." A description of St. Peter & St Paul's may found here.

It is noteworthy that as a flagship parish of the ACNA Christ Church, Plano, has called a rector who who appears to be comfortable with working with a woman in holy orders. Recently the ACNA Diocese of Pittsburgh, a flagship diocese of the ACNA, elected a new bishop, Bishop-Elect James Hobby, who is himself married to a woman priest. This development is also noteworthy. While the ACNA's College of Bishops endorses teaching and practices associated with a form of unreformed Catholicisn, which rejects the ordination of women, a leading ACNA parish and a leading ACNA diocese have chosen new leaders who appear to support women's ordination.
