New Anglican church launches in Midland

A new Anglican missionary movement will hold its first worship service for the public this Sunday.

All Saints Anglican Church will open its doors at Grace Lutheran Church at 3000 W. Golf Course Road for worship at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday school for all ages beginning at 4:15 p.m. A reception will be held in the church lobby immediately following the service.

The small congregation was organized May 15 by former members of Christ Church Midland and since has grown to include 80 members, most of which are young families. The Rev. Tom Finnie, who moved to Midland from Pennsylvania in 2007 to lead Christ Church, helped form the new church after his resignation from Christ Church in April. An exploratory meeting was held May 10, and the church opened doors for worship May 27 at Grace Lutheran Church.

"Space is hard to find in Midland these days, but Pastor Bob Pase and his congregation have been so kind to us," Finnie said. Read more

Strictly speaking a new church plant is NOT "a new Anglican missionary movement." It may be a part of such a movement.
