Herons Creek church re-opens Saturday

The re-opening of the former historical Anglican Church at Herons Creek will be held on Saturday.

The late Eva Dykes wrote regarding the history of the church: "Herons Creek today faces a big challenge. It's not just the need to keep this fine building in good repair, but to realise that the witness of this generation will leave its effects on the next."

The Church was once the centre of spiritual and community life in days gone by. Copies of photos will be exhibited of past weddings, christenings, Womens Guild, bbqs and wood chopping charity days.

Nowadays it is the norm to hear of old village churches closing. But Herons Creek is breaking tradition and going against the trend in re-opening. To read more, click here.
