At its annual meeting this past week the Church of England’s General Synod broke with a long-standing tradition and rescinded its centuries–old policy against canine bishops. Liberal Anglicans around the world have been applauding the General Synod for its enlightened attitude. The Episcopal Church’s Presiding Pooch released this statement:
“ARF! ARF! ARF!” (“It’s about time!”)
Her Holiness Pope Mar Roberta VII of the Anglican Church in North America told reporters gathered at the New Vatican in Pittsburgh.
“Mrrrowwww!!” (I’m appalled!)
