The Anglican Curmudgeon Turns His Eagle Eye to the Lambeth Conference Church Bulletin Inserts

[Stand Firm] 6 June 2008--As you know, 815 is churning out the propaganda desperately and frenziedly, most recently as church bulletin inserts from Episcopal Life on the history of the Lambeth Conference. A week or so ago, a rather clever man suggested to me that these bulletins needed educated critique, and as I examined the StandFirm bloggers' schedules, and surveyed the broader blogosphere, I realized that there was no one who could do this job but The Anglican Curmudgeon. I could think of no one who could do a more complete, well-researched, copiously linked, yet cogent and articulate analysis than this person who is a gift to the Anglican Blogging World.

I asked him if he would consider running a series, and he graciously agreed, promptly whipping up this first, delectable offering. StandFirm will be featuring excerpts from his series over the coming weeks.

If you're in a parish that is using these shallow bits of carefully edited propaganda in your bulletins, I urge you to peruse the Anglican Curmudgeon's analysis of each and every bulletin insert, carefully print them out, make many copies, and pass the copies out like candy in your Sunday Schools and small groups and coffee hours.

To whet your appetite for what I believe will be an oustanding series, here is an excerpt from the first installment.
